REGULAR PUBLIC MEETING OF THE ELOY FIRE DISTRICT BOARD<\/p>\n

June 6, 2022<\/p>\n

  1. Call to order and confirmation of quorum.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>A meeting of the Board was called to order by Board Chairperson Belinda Akes at the Eloy Fire District Administration office, located at 4010 N. Toltec Road, Eloy, Arizona at 1802 hours on Monday, June 6, 2022. A quorum was confirmed with five members present: Toni Lorona Carlson, Tom Cortez, Edward Sauceda, Luis Ybarra, and Belinda Akes. Board member Luis Ybarra attended remotely.<\/li>\n
  2. Pledge of allegiance.\u00a0<\/strong>Board Chair Belinda Akes led the pledge of allegiance.<\/li>\n
  3. Call to the Public:\u00a0<\/strong>No members of the public addressed the board.<\/li>\n
  4. Special Ceremony:<\/strong>\u00a0 Pinning Ceremony.\u00a0\u00a0Fire Chief Kelly Weddle explained the requirements for personnel to be promoted.\n

    • A. Firefighter Ethan Hunt.\u00a0 Will be presented at a later date.<\/li>\n
    • B.\u00a0 Battalion Chief AJ Sauceda.\u00a0 AJ Sauceda received his Battalion Chief badge.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n

      • The Board reviewed the Minutes, Financial Statements, and Warrant List. Chief Weddle reported that the district continues to be in good financial condition. MOTION made by Edward Sauceda to approve the Consent Agenda Items A, B, and C. SECONDED by Toni Lorona Carlson. MOTION PASSED (5 Ayes: Akes, Lorona Carlson, Sauceda, Ybarra, and Cortez; 0 Nays).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n

          • A.\u00a0 Review, discussion and possible action on updating the annual PSPRS funding policy. Chief Weddle explained that the policy was updated to include the recent payment using proceeds from the Certificates of Participation and that all Smart & Safe distributions will be used for unfunded pension liability. MOTION made by Edward Sauceda to approve the updated PSPRS funding policy. SECONDED by Tom Cortez. MOTION PASSED (5 Ayes: Akes, Lorona Carlson, Sauceda, Ybarra, and Cortez; 0 Nays).<\/li>\n
          • B.\u00a0 Review, discussion, and possible action on Resolution 22-004, Call of Election. MOTION made by Tom Cortez to approve Resolution 22-004, Call of Election. SECONDED by Edward Sauceda. MOTION PASSED (5 Ayes: Akes, Lorona Carlson, Sauceda, Ybarra, and Cortez; 0 Nays).<\/li>\n
          • C.\u00a0 Review, discussion, and possible action on out of district responses. Chief Weddle explained background and important aspects regarding out of district response. Information item only, no action taken.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n

            • A. Division Chief Report. Division Chief Nate Bailey presented his monthly report.<\/li>\n
